The past two weeks have been a world wind of ISM events. From the Frisco ISD showcase to my first official mentor meeting, it feels like so much has happened. Since the start of this semester, I felt like things almost slowed down for a little while with everyone submitting their original work proposals and building their display boards, which were things that I had completely proactively. However, this week it feels like things have begun to pick back up with more research assessments and work on my final product.
The district showcase was incredibly successful. I had a great time showing off my board and speaking with a variety of people. I was surprised at how well I was able to adapt my presentation depending on the audience. For example, when a person with previous consulting experience came up to me, I went into deeper details about the techniques of my case study analysis, but when some sweet grandparents came up to me, I made sure to simplify my presentation and touch on my key takeaways. Furthermore, my mentor visit went well and she was very impressed by my final product idea, even offering to share her personal experience about the management consulting recruiting process. Overall, I am enjoying that things are starting to get more busy, and I cannot wait to see what opportunities the next few months bring.
