With the excitement of the display boards, showcase, followed by my first mentor visits, I had not done research assessments in a little while. I initially felt like research assessments were not going to be beneficial to me at this point in my ISM journey, especially since my field of business consulting is more hands-on. That said, doing these research assessments did benefit me in terms of better understanding what to include in my guide. I had already gained the majority of consulting knowledge that I will need from last semester’s research and my original work, but I did not realize how much I was confused about when it comes to actually building a guide.
I will admit that doing research again has been a little more time consuming and frustrating, since I want to get down to putting the components of my guide together. However, now that I have some key points to keep in mind, such as being concise, catering to a variety of audiences, and including visual elements, I feel much more confident about embarking on my final product journey. Going forward, I am excited to get more feedback from my mentor as I start creating the guide, as well as understanding the opinions of my peers in order to make this project as effective and far-reaching as possible.
