These past two weeks have been filled with research, speech preparation, and a weekend ISM meetup. I can feel the workload increasing, but I am not complaining because I am learning so much.

The annotated bibliography took me longer than expected because several of the articles were over fifteen pages long. However, the end result was so satisfying and I am sure I am better versed with consulting content because of it. I have even been able to dive deeper into one of the articles focused on the different objectives of consultants and the different qualities needed to be successful in the career. The research assessment really made me reflect on the application of the information to my journey, and I think it has laid a solid foundation for me to learn more consulting intricacies.

We also did our introduction speeches this past week. I consider public speaking a strength of mine, so I chose not to ask for a particular spot in the order. I thought it would be good practice to be comfortable speaking no matter when I go. Little did I expect that I would be the very last speaker. To be honest, it was a little intimidating, but I think I did a pretty good job. The feedback I got from my peers praised the flow and content of my speech, however, they critiqued how fast I spoke and the quote that I chose. While I can work on slowing down, since this is advice I have received before, I picked this quote by Pelé since it resonated with me, so I do not think I will be changing it.

Furthermore, this past weekend, I attended my first ISM meetup. Even though it was cut short, it was pretty interesting. Due to unexpected circumstances, we had to leave the UNT building in only forty five minutes instead of the hour and a half that was initially planned. I learned a valuable lesson about how things can change and may not be in our control, but all we can do is adapt and make the best of the situation. Per my quote, I will continue to put in consistent effort every single day to see results in the long run, and I am excited to see what knowledge my ISM experiences will bring me.
